Some unindentified Nigerians were among those killed in South Africa on tuesday, as violence against immigrants spread through some settlements in johanesburg and Alexandria. The mayhem which started nine days ago has also claimed victims from Somalia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

According to reports the anger is fueled by the assumption that immigrants were taking local jobs for less pay, and also responsible for series of crimes in most high density areas.They are also accused of enetering South africa illegally.

They are also anfry because the large influx of these immigrants has led to unemployment in somany local areas.

The riots which stated in Alexandria, has seen young men with ages ranging from 20-35, armed with all kinds of weapons including firearms, attacking all those who they assume do not look like a native.

opposition has criticized the government for not responding accordingly. As at tuesday, the police attempt to stop the marauders has been ineffective, fuelling the calls for the army to step in.

They are also accusing the government for encouraging a porous border with ineffective border control.
