For the Governor of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Oni, the battle to establish legitimacy after a controversial electoral process has taken a worsening twist as he is being accused of being the mastermind behind the abduction of two leading politicians in the state recently. Governor Oni was said to have purportedly approved the “kidnap” of the politicians to forestall a world press conference where it was going to be announced that N2.4 Billion mysteriously disappeared from the treasury of the state.
Sources in Ado-Ekiti in Nigeria told pointblanknews.com that the two abducted politicians are former chief press secretary to the Pioneer Governor of the State, Colonel Bawa, Television Journalist, Mr. Abiodun Akin-Fasae and former Commissioner for Information in old Ondo State, Ms. Ronke Okunsanya were rough-handled by a detachment of the Nigerian police who came in an official vehicle belonging to Ekiti State government. It was said that the two were taking to an undisclosed destination in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. |
