As part of its strategies to promote retail banking in Nigeria, the bank said it is bringing banking closer to Nigerians traveling to Benin Republic for both business and personal purposes as it has commenced operation at the ever busy Nigeria/Seme border.

The new branch is part of the aggressive expansion strategy that Diamond Bank has embarked on to bring retail banking closer to both its old and prospective customers.

This means that the bank is committed to the growth of both small and medium scale enterprises and part of the way of achieving that ambition is by being at the reach of these customers.

The new branch at the Nigeria/Seme border, according to the statement, is designed to enhance customers’ access to the bank’s quality customer care delivery. It further stated that one of the underlying aims is to make the banking experience short and pleasant, while at the same time providing customers with basic services without the hassles of traveling far to access banking services or running the risk of moving cash across the border as its branch in Benin Republic, offers banking services to those in the neighboring country.

To achieve the objective of convenience, the new Diamond Bank branch at the border is equipped with an internet station, bulk counting room, an Interswitch connected automated teller machine (ATM), which provides both customers and non customers of the bank unhindered access to their accounts.

Diamond Bank Nigeria /Seme border branch reflects the look and feel of Diamond Bank. The internal designs cast a home ambience thereby making the banking experience warm and exciting, while the multiple colours reflect the variety of the Diamond Bank brand.

With a fully equipped internet station within the branch, a customer can easily walk into the bank and perform free online banking transactions without interfacing with bank operatives. Other product channels available to customers through the branch include internet and mobile banking, cash deposit and withdrawal from the counters, and ATM facility for unaided access to cash 24/7.

Diamond Bank was among the banks that pioneered online real time banking in the 1990s with its Diamond Integrated Banking Service, DIBS. The Bank also spearheaded the drive towards a cashless society with the introduction of the Paycard, a debit card which made it possible to securely carry large sums of money electronically.
