STOP RUMOR MONGERING, AKPABIO ADVISES INDIGENES

Indigenes of Akwa Ibom State have been advised to desist from petition writing, rumor mongering and other negative tendencies capable of thwarting the effort of the present administration aimed at developing the State.

Governor Godswill Akpabio who gave the advised Sunday at the dedication of the Alpha and Omega parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God  Ibagwa in Abak Local Government Area said he as worried that even men of God who are supposed to pray for leaders are themselves engaging in what he termed pull him down system.

Chief Akpabio maintained that it was not just enough to go to Church and after that go back to plan mischief and called on Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) to pray for the people of the State to have a change of attitude.

The state chief Executive officer called on Akwa Ibom people to always support any person appointed to any position of authority to enable such person perform creditably other than putting up negative criticisms to pull him down.

Governor Akpabio used the occasion to dispel the rumours making the rounds that he belong to the Brotherhood of the cross and star seek stating that he had never in his life been a member of the said group and called on the rumour mongers to stop spreading misleading and false allegations.

He expressed shock that these negative reports were sponsored to distract him but assured indigenes of the state that despite this will not allow himself to be distracted from embarking on project that would impact positively on the lives of the people of the state.

Chief Akpabio called on the people of Abak and the state to use the new sanctuary as a contact point for positive change for the well being and growth of the State.

The governor lauded the outgoing Commander of the 6th amphibious Battalion and the Pastor of Alpha and Omega Parish, Col G. Oyesofobi doing God proud through the building of the sanctuary pointing out that he was not surprise at his elevation from Lt. Col to Col in the Nigeria Army.

He maintained that life was like a data bank in that what store is what you get in return and congratulated Col. Oyefesobi for distinguishing himself in the service of God and humanity.

Chief Akpabio who is of the opinion that we must be in the state of grace for God to accept our services stressed the need for all to repent in order to offer acceptable sacrifice unto God.

Governor Akpabio announced the donation of 18 seater bus to the parish and pledged his continued support to the church.

The General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye in his message titled“his shinning face taken from the book of Numbers 6:34-37, said when God smile on a man, people or Nation, such people can never remain the same.

The General Overseer who was represented by his Special Assistant, Pastor Sunday Ebenezer Akande called on people to turn away from sin in order to receive God’s blessings.

Pastor Adeboye highlighted those things that would cause the of God to shine upon a man to include, love for God, complete trust in God, total obedience and serving God with our substances.

In his remarks, the provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Emmanuel Bassey, maintained that God was still in the business of rewarding those who diligently seek him and called on Akwa Ibom people to live right in order to attract God’s favour.

The Parish Pastor and commander 6ht amphibious battalion Ibagwa, Col. G. Oyefesobi said the planting of the parish became necessary in order to provide a conclusive place of workshop to those who desires to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Col. Oyefesobi expressed gratitude to the State governor for finding time to attend the dedication service noting that this was a demonstration of his commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of the citizenry.

He requested for an 18 seater bus to aid evangelism.

Pastor Adeboye who dedicated the Alpha and Omega parish for signs, grace prophesied God’s blessings upon the State, government the people.
