We shoula invite Ghana's Jerry Rawlings to come to Nigeris and do exactly what he did in Ghana to make that the country an examplary one in Africa. Collect all in goverment from the corrupt president to all the other morons in power and send them six feet under. A total radical revolution that will wipe out all the stupid heartless good for nothing idiots in power. Ghana just celebrated a 10 year anniversary of non-power interruption while Nigerian power supply is better that none. How can we make all the money in Oil and have the worst roads, no electricity, no jobs, WORST SECURITY, in the face of earth. I am ashamed to be a Nigerian. |

This is nothing but barbaric, O compatriots I reckon we should stop foolling ourselves by the word DEMOCRACY in nigeria, there is nothing like democracy. This unGodly act shows how lawless our society is. Its pathetic, sometimes i shed tears for the present and future of our darling nation. Soilders are inpatiently worried because they felt power have left them for too long, therefore they are like a broken bottle that is very dangerous even to the man who holds it. The particular soilder that did this should be sent to face talibans in Afganistan. O GOD OF CREATION, DIRECT OUR NOBLE CAUSE. Toyin Ajibade |

This really put my back up!It is gruesome, what a sight to behold! And we have government in Nigeria? It is not case of unknown soldier this time around! They responded to distress call,so they said! Somebody should wake up in that country to correct all these anomalies before God's anger visit. My advice for the people living in Nigeria is to please be cautious of their movements, anything can happen and the dead will always be guilt. |

May his soul rest in peace. Its only in Naija a cold blooded murder would take place and it will be tagged a lawful act especially if its commited by idiots in uniform. By the way, is Yaradua still the president? Pls don't tell me he didn't know a member of the uniform force just took out a bloody civilian? Because the president might some day fall victim to an accidental discharge from the same outfit if he is taking the lives of Nigerians for granted. |

One does not need a forensic expert to know that a man with mobile phone in one hand and some money in another hand will by no means struggle with someone talk less of a mad dog with a gun. Lt. col K.K Umoh is no doubt among many Nigerians without conscience. When did he constitute a panel or did he just believed the word of a lunatic who has no place in the military. If this goes like any other murder in Nigeria, Yaradua will have the blood of an inocent man in his hand, can you see this type of evil happen in USA or UK with their leaders keeping silence. Lt. Col Umoh will by no means an earlder in one of the Nigerian churches. |

When you have military people who have no job to do and they carry guns around, that is what you will see so rampant. Nigeria is a joke. These has happened too many times to recount. However, the solutions is very simple. Get these 'strong' men in the military to do direct labour on Benin/Lagos road by their cantonment in turns and keep the guns in storage until we are ready to settle Nigeria. Afterall, they do nothing in the barracks than drink and sex, and, ofcourse, they get paid very well by the way. |

Nothing justifies a gruesome murder of an unarmed civilian. The usurper president need to get off his lazy behind and condemn these killings. Also, AGF that defends Ibori at every opportunity should also investigate and charge whoever committed this crime to court. This is pure insane. What kinda country is this? |

No man has the right to take another's life. As long as our government looks the other way when such heinous acts are committed, the country remains cursed. The first step is to treat every life sacred. Who ever took part in the killing of the young man will surely be visited with the wrath of God even to his next generation. |

This is babaric. How can a Col. say his men responded to distress call. The police should start the investigation from Col Umoh, am sure he sent the soldier to go and murder the innocent man. this is a case of dabbling into civil matters because the complainant have a relation/friend in the military. HABA LT COL UMOH if this my is your relation and an officer tells you what you are saying now, how are you going to feel? |

A full fledged man is murdered and the Nigerian Army comes out with a statement when they never "heard" from the dead man or at least those that were around. This shows the total barbarism that makes up the uniformed armed men in Nigeria. It is only in Nigeria that no matter what you do, even if you are caught sleeping with your mother, you will still get supporters and "acceptable" excuses for such acts.
Nigeria Police shoots an innocent man along the road they put a gun in his hand, tag him an armed robber, case closed; but the best decency they can come up with is to claim "accidental discharge" for a deliberate shooting. Whatever we do simply because we are in uniform, will come back to us and our children; that is why God is the all might one. |

You can only see these things in a sick country like ours, what do you expect when the president is sick and the so-called constitution is for those that made it, it's just a pity that the poor keeps experiencing this gruesome attitude. Justice will definitely come one day,no matter how long it takes, and those responsible for this will have worse death than we have just seen. |

Since members of the Nigerian Army have been working hand-in-hand with the Nigerian Police, they too have mastered and perfected the art of lying to cover up. It is no more news in this country that whenever these people perpetrated their devlish act of snuffing life of innocent people, the first alibi is to label their victim ARMED Robbers to justify their babaric action. He who kills by sword will surely die by the sword. We have seen the way this guy was killed. Who knows the way his killers will die? God is on the throne. |

Nothing is working in Nigeria. This so-called nation is a nation of absurdites as things happen here without recourse to moral justice, conscience and fear of God. Until there is a revolution whereby all the so-called law enforcement agents see themselves as being above the law, nothing will work. |

if indeed the report is true, then the police should step in and investigate-that's their job .the lagos state govt.must be interested in this investigation since the killing took place in lagos state.the civil society groups must ensure that due process is carried out while the press must maintain the matter on the front burner of public discourse untill justice is seen to be done. on the surface it would appear as another extrajudicial killing if indeed the unproven allegation of robbery and trying to disarm a soldier are true, otherwisw, the conclusion appears pretty obvious.in eighter case the President should should step in and ensure that his Rule of Law principle is of granite content and not a mere empty slogan |

The man wanted to use his mobile phone to disarm a Nigerian soldier. You can actually disarm a Nigerian soldier anytime since they are always drunk on duty. The soldier should be shot too. |

Guys, words can't really describe my immediate reaction when the page popped on my computer screen. And of course I couldn't agree any more with what others have said. But my question is what next? Or, is it enough to remain in our comfort zone and be critiques of happenings? Perhaps being part of the 'process' key to real change. My heart goes out to the bereaved. RIP Friday Ojeh. Best.... |

I tag this as Man's inhumanity to Man but we have to be realistic in our approach and dealings, you and i know that in our country laws and order are religated to the dogs while corruption in high places seems to be the order of the day but i strongly believe in GOD'S supernatural intervention most especially in our moral discipline. |

This kind of senseless, barbaric, uncivilized and inhumane posture is one of the frontline reasons why (WE)Nigerians in diaspora do not even think of coming back to that country where rule of laws is only on paper as exhibitions and has been made possibly impracticable by the "High and Mighty". What is sense in the image-laundry about Nigeria when this kind of thing still happens-public resources better not be wasted (or rather embezzled)in the name of image-laundry. Positively, nothing will come out of any enquiry/investigation set up as the outcome had already been pre-emptied by the Army Spokesman BUT whoever did this malicious act will not go unpunished in the sight of God (AMEN). |

Pls forward this atrocious picture to both Federal Houses (Hse of Rep & Hse of Senates) to evaluate and compare to past and recent cases of abuse and killings that happened to Nigerian/s in Spain, China, Libya, South Africa and Italy etc. which the two Federal Houses are purportedly investigating. If a Nigerian military personnel could perform this catastrophic deadly act to a fellow citizen he supposedly to defend and to a tax payer of the country through which he (Military officer) obtain his salary. How would our national government expect other countries mentioned above to respect and not to kill or abuse Nigerian citizens abroad?. This government must bring to book the killer immediately. |

This appears to me as a trump up allegation. From the scene as shown in this picture, he probably is the one asking for help when the army guys are about to attack him. Moreso, the job of investigating lies with the police, not the army. The media should help give this story the rapid government reponse it deserved. The police authorities should be consulted to take charge, and deal with the military personnel involved in this daylight murder as approriate. If the issue of 'rule of law' is one of relevance, the police need no instructions from anyone to know where to commence investigation and bring the soldiers to justice. They should not go unpunished. May the soul of the gentleman rest in peace. |

Nigeria is still a demonic state and it is ONLY GOD ALMIGHTY that can deliver and liberate us! In civilized countries of the world, the army is not seen outside with blazing guns. The job of the army is to protect its citizens not kill them. The army should remember, those who kill by sword will surely die by sword even in war because GOD is GOD of peace! Even if whoever pulls this trigger escapes this earthly justice by protection of the earthly powers that be, what about the justice of GOD? He can not escape this because it is already recorded in the book of life - the GIANT COMPUTER of ALMIGHTY! The earlier humans realise that the giant computer of GOD records all actions, thoughts and deeds the better for a human child of GOD to watch out because we all are subject to this. You will be called to give an account whether you like it or not and this same goes for whoever tries to cover this and allow whoever pulls the trigger to escape earthly justice. May GOD grant him rest! |

This wicked soldier should be dismissed and be parade to face the law, for no one is indispensable and no one giveth life and neither should one taketh life of any by any position whatsoever, no one taketh life for alone is the giver. The soldier shuld be examined for mental disorder to to curb the society of wild-being. |

I call on the appropriate authorities responsible for investigation and trial of cases of this nature to rise to the occasion and defend the citizenry. Friday Ojeh is gone, we do not know who will be the next victim. As long as justice is denied, cases like this will continue to thrive unchecked. Above all, No evil doer(including collaborators in justifying evil deeds) will go unpunished. |
