Musa Yar'Adua

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua returned unannounced to Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday. The state of his health still remains a guided secret. According to Aso Rock Presidential Villa Sources, the President looks frail and yet unable to attend to any serious state business.

Visitors who had thronged the Presidential Villa could not see the President who is said to have gone straight into his private quarters. The visitors, according to sources were told that they cannot see the President as he is said to be resting.

Most aides to President Yar’Adua were said to be unaware of the President’s return. Special Adviser on communication, Mr. Segun Adeniyi and the President’s official Photographer were not informed of the President’s return.

Sources told pointblanknews.com that his return was as a result of questions being raised on the national security implication of his long absence and underground jostling for power by Northern elements trying to position themselves against Vive President Goodluck Jonathan. Much of that pressure came from within the national executive of the ruling of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

President Yar’adua returned alongside his wife, Turai Yar’Adua, Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State and the National Economic Adviser, Mr. Tanimu Yakubu. Others include, Colonel Ovota, ADC, to President Yar’Adua and few security officials.
