Chief Michael Botmang, former governor of Plateau State was  picked up by the EFCC was docked at exactly 9am before the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, today for arraignment for the breach of public trust in the misuse of N1.573 billion public funds.

He had not been granted bail as at the time of this report, also fingered in the whole episode is former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu

 

Chief Botmang, who became the governor of Plateau State following the impeachment of the former of Plateau in the person of Gov. Dariye in 2006, had been under the surveillance of the EFCC following the end of his term at the government. Chief Botmang was the deputy governor to the then governor, Dariye.

 

Meanwhile, in Plateau State, the political current, of late, has been anything but favorable to the Dariye/Botmang administration.   This is as the present governor makes no reservation to that effect.
