Crude oil prices eased back on Monday in New York after setting a record of more than $147 (about N17, 300) per barrel last Friday. "On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil prices were at $143.69 (about N16, 800) per barrel today,'' a statement from the exchange said.
It stated that the price of heating oil fell 0.0356 cents to $4.041 (about N471) per four litres, while reformulated blend stock gasoline prices fell 0.0337 cents to $3.5295 (about N413) per four litres.
It said that natural gas prices also fell, 0.044 cents to $11.86 (about N1, 296) per million British thermal units. NAN, however, reports that at the pump, the U.S. national average price for four litres of unleaded gasoline climbed 0.005 cents to $4.109 (about N500).
