N19 BILLION AVIATION FUND: FANI-KAYODE, BORISADE ARRESTED

Two former Aviation Ministers during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Femi Fani Kayode and Professor Babalola Boridade by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, moments after testifying at the National Assembly hearing organized by its Aviation Committee.

The arrest of the two former ministers regarded as very close allies to the former President Obasanjo was in connection with an alleged mismanagement of N19.5 Billion released at the wake of incessant plan crash to help revamp the ailing Aviation sector in Nigeria.

Also arrested was Rowland Iyayi, the former Managing Director of the Federal Aviation Authority, FAAN.

Pointblanknews.com had exclusively reported how Fani-Kayode diverted into private account about N11 Billion Intervention Funds meant to salvage the troubled Nigerian Aviation industry.

Chief Fani Kayode was said to have created long line overlapping redundant managerial position while he ran the Aviation Ministry as the helmsman and hired mostly women for the positions

Many of these women that Fanny Kayode hired were said to be inexperience aviation related matters. As a matter of fact, quite a number of them were said to have been involved with him in amorous relationship and, wait for this, he used majority of them as human conduit for taking stolen funds abroad. Many of this women were said to have extensively assisted him to launder now hard to trace huge sums in foreign countries.

One of those women, the daughter of former Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Folake St. Mathew Daniel, who was hired by the ever loquacious Fani Kayode, was hired as Director of Legal Services at the Nigerian Airspace Management Services, NAMA, a strategic parastatal of the Aviation Ministry.

According to sources some of these Managers assisted Fani Kayode to launder over $100 Million in hard to trace foreign account within the period he served as Minister of Tourism and Minister for Aviation.

Chief Fani-Kayode was also alleged to have used one Chioma Anasoh to ferry money abroad. Ms. Anasoh who is said to be romantically involved with the ex-minister was caught with about $240,000 on her way to England at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos. She had confessed that the money belonged to the former Minister.
