NN24 (NETWORK NEWS 24) commences operations in Lagos, Nigeria
NN24, a 24 hour, Seven days a week TV news channel has commenced operations in Lagos, Nigeria. The arrival of this channel in the broadcast media scene heralds a new era in television journalism in Nigeria and the continent at large.
With head office at 3 Billingsway Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos NN24 is set to fill a void in the broadcast news genre with special dedication to round-the-clock news updates and afro centric programming content. Available on channel 414 on DStv, NN24 is accessible to television audience in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
News and information have become a staple for millions of people across the world; the way people receive and use news and information has changed, so also have the methods of news gathering and dissemination on the part of the media. Speaking on the launch of the channel, Founder/Chief Executive, Anthony Dara says the company, which has an affiliation with CNN and MultiChoice, is set to become the leader in the Nigerian media industry for concise and reliable television news. “We at NN24 believe Africa is ripe for this news revolution hence we are here with a different orientation, style and professionalism that is desirable not just in Nigeria but in Africa”.
