The Nigerian police has carried out fresh raids on the offices of the Nation newspaper less than 24 hours after four editors were arrested by the police in Lagos.

It was learnt that the duo of Yusuf Alli and Yomi Odunuga are still being held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Human rights attorney, Femi Falana, said that the Nigerian police continue the raids on the Nation offices to force the newspaper to shut down apparently as a result of a damaging revelation by the newspaper on a secret letter written by former President Oludegun Obasanjo to current Nigerian leader, Goodluck Jonathan, regarding federal appointments.

It's  northern operations manager,  Alli, Odunuga Abuja bureau chief, and four Lagos based editors namely: Lawal Ogianegbon, Dapo Olufade, Dupe Olaoye-Osinkolu, John Austin Unachukwu.
