ACN governors mobilise thugs to disrupt Tinubu's trial - Group alleges

An Abuja based Non Governmental Organisation, the Society for Rule of Law in Nigeria (SRLN) has accused Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governors in Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos States of mobilising thugs to disrupt the trial of the party leader, Senator Bola Tinubu scheduled for tomorrow in Abuja under the guise of protesting against the trial.

The group alleged that each of the five states was mandated to move thugs to Abuja in 10 buses, and as we write; "the protesters are on their way to Abuja."

In a release signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Chima Ubeku, the SRLN alleged that N5,000 has already been paid to each of the thugs.

Describing the plot as barbaric, uncivilised and devilish, SRLN said the Code of Conduct Tribunal should not be dettered in its bid to bring Tinubu and others that had ran foul of the law to book.

"We are aware of the movement of paid 'protesters' to Abuja by the ACN governors of Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos with the aim of causing chaos at the venue of Tinubu's trial tomorrow.

"This plan to say the least is devilish and an admittance of guilt on the part of the ACN governors as regard the crime allegedly committed by Tinubu.

"It is also a demonstration of the ACN's hypocrisy as a party that preashes democracy and rule of law in the open but practise voodoo and black market democracy in their closets.

"The law enforcement agents should therefore be at alert to ward off any untowards act by treating anyone arrested at the venue of the trial as common criminal, who does not deserve to be seen among decent people."
