Ahead of the appearance of Ahmed Tinubu, the leading opposition voice in Nigeria, before the Code of Conduct Tribunal on wednesday in Abuja, hundreds of ACN members who are followers of Tinubu were stopped at Lokoja the last major entry point into the federal capital territory. The ACN supporters were headed for Abuja to rally in support of the founder and national leader of their party.

Phone calls from some of the supporters from Ondo State who were stopped around 6pm tuesday said the uniformed men after asking them questions and seeing the logo of the party stopped them from proceeding to drive into the FCT.

Hundreds of ACN supporters and Tinubu symphatizers  are expected to hit a road block between tonite and tomorrow as they approach Abuja.

The summons on Tinubu is being perceived as poltically motivated and an attempt to silence the leading voice of opposition and one who has inflicted on the ruling party the highest level of electoral defeat.
