Kano govt spend N100m on Ramadan feeding
The Kano State
Government spent more than N100 million in feeding the less privileged during
the month of Ramadan.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Alhaji Ali Baba,
told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday that free meals
were provided in 69 designated centres across the state to assist indigent
persons during the fasting period.
He added that more than 300 persons were provided with free meals in each of
the designated centres on daily basis throughout the Ramadan period.
Baba, who commended the state government for the gesture, said the committee
set up to monitor the exercise had been directed to submit its report
to government.
He said government planned to rehabilitate some dilapidated mosques in the
state, noting that the ministry had already forwarded the list of such mosques
to government.
