The Kano State Government spent more than N100 million in feeding the less privileged  during the month of Ramadan.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Alhaji Ali Baba, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday that free meals were provided in 69 designated centres across the state to assist indigent persons during the fasting period.

He added that more than 300 persons were provided with free meals in each of the designated centres on daily basis throughout the Ramadan period.

Baba, who commended the state government for the gesture, said the committee set up to monitor the exercise had been directed to submit its report to government.

He said government planned to rehabilitate some dilapidated mosques in the state, noting that the ministry had already forwarded the list of such mosques to government.
