…IG Escapes Death, Two dead, 33 Vehicles Destroyed, Two workers trapped on top of Building

Less than 24 hours after Boko Haram, the Islamists sect threatened fiercer attack; the Nigeria Police has admitted that the militant group bombed the Police headquarters while the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim narrowly escaped death.

Police Spokesman, Olusola Abore said it has concrete report and evidence that linked the bombing to the Boko Haram sect.

However, a highly placed police source had confirmed to Pointblanknews.com that a suicide bomber was responsible for the bombing that occurred at the car park inside the Police headquarters where two persons have already been confirmed dead and 33 cars destroyed.

The police source who is not authorized to speak on the issue told pointblanknews.com that the bomber had discreetly followed the convoy of the Inspector general of Police, Hafiz Ringim and attempted to park his unmarked Mercedes Benz car right at the entrance of the Louis Edet Building, the same route where the IG takes to his office.

Pointblanknews.com source revealed that the Bomber was stopped by a traffic police inside the building and directed to move his car to the car park. It was on his way to the car park that the car exploded since it had been timed, killing himself and the traffic police.

According to the source, “the target was the police building. He entered with the IG’s convoy, he was not searched and as he made an attempt to park his car alongside the IG’s entrance, he was quickly spotted and directed to move the car to the car park, it was at this time it exploded and even the traffic officer who was directing him dies.”

Another source told Pointblanknews.com that when the bomb exploded, two workers installing satellite equipment for the police were trapped on top of the building. It could not be confirmed if they were injured.
