KENNEDY, KERRY, EDWARD AND OBAMA’S NEW POLITICS FANTASY

It is really sweet and colorful when the uninitiated listen to the master of the arts of rhetoric at rallies. He usually takes them on a roller coaster, stringing them along with apostrophes, anaphora and alliterations. Capping it with the slogan ‘YES WE CAN’.

He tells them he is the anointed, the redeemer, the only one who is not like them-Washington insiders, the old school. Most times the eloquent senator from Illinois has nothing concrete or any practical approach to issues. So he tells his elitist bloc,(over $100,000 per annum), and mostly naïve and exuberant college kids (ages 18-24)…”we need change, we need to change how things are done in Washington “

But a close look at Barak Obama’s claim reveals that this guy, whose wife Mitchelle, said 2008 is the first time she is proud of her country in her adult life, is all rhetoric and a hypocrite. He got way with all these for a while. From foreign policy, economy, to social issues like gun control, abortion, gay rights, this guy has often exhibited naiveté. He cant connect with the poor, so called blue collar, the seniors, women etc, so the only thing he says is “WE WANT CHANGE”.

Some curious pundits have always expressed worry at his focus which is, change Washington. Question is, how do you change Washington without having a solid grip on the issues. Saying, at a private elitist fundraising dinner in san Francisco,, that small town people cling to their guns, bible, and hate colored people because they are bitter. Is not change. To want to get into a Jacuzzi with Ahmedinajad, Castro, Chavez, without pre conditions makes no sense. Is not change we want. To even say Reagan, John Kennedy, did talk with the soviet union, is simply silly. And to say Iran posed a ‘tiny’ threat is just dumb.

When the issue of endorsements of Obama by some members of the Washington old school came up, people started wondering what this talk about new Washington was all about. Political watchers are of the view that to categorically say you will overhaul Washington , is not only dishonest, but a fantasy.

A look at how Washington works shows that to be able to effect any meaningful change is not to have an unprepared, and green senator with questionable voting records in Illinois , at the head of a table where members of the old school out number the green horns.

Question then is, what is Obama doing with characters like Ted Kennedy, who has been in Washington since 1972, John Kerry, and John Edward, both failed politicians and Washington insiders. If you say Hillary Clinton and John McCain are insiders, what do you say about Kennedy who is 76 years old. I s Obama going to replace all those top pentagon chiefs with an average age of 60, with college kids. Is Obama going work with a congress and white House staff made up of those just out of college. America need a president who goes to the table with something solid up his or her sleeve, not empty talk and wishful thinking. The white House is not run by interns. And if he is elected, God forbid, he will definitely allow people like Kennedy and his co travelers ,including his mentor and pastor, who is old school, to run things while he learns. Reason: Obama is naïve, and will definitely be one of the worst presidents ever, and consequently mess any chance of a future black president.

Truth is, Obama has nothing to offer, his only argument is , we want change…how he cant say. Saying you will talk without pre conditions, is change but is it stupid…yes. He also talks childishly about bringing Americans together. I s he suggesting that one day we will have a one party state, with white, black, Hispanics, Asians having no issues about each other.
