Dear Sir,

Waziri's Award reinforces my belief in the Nigerian Project

I write with regards to the award of the Officer of the Federal Republic ,  OFR  conferred on the Chairman of the EFCC, Mrs Farida Waziri. I congratulate President Goodluck Jonathan for honouring deserving Nigerians. With the honour done  Farida Waziri, we are now sure  that hard work is still  rewarded and that a  belief in the Nigerian Project is still a worthy cause. With the casual and lack-lustre way our national honour has always been conferred on all manner of Nigerians in the past, ardent critics like myself always feel that he awards have lost all glory and meaning. Many times,  people of questionable character have been awarded one award or another in this country.

However, a turning point seems to have come with the offer of OFR to Waziri. With this kind of gestures to heads of institutions, our national  machinery will be better oiled for a new onslaught. I feel with all conviction that Farida has shown the Nigerian nation that the war on corruption can be fought and won with the rule of law as a guiding principle.
