Dear Editor,
Waziri's National Honour is deserved
As a keen watcher of the activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, it is gratifying to note that the EFCC Chairman, Mrs Farida Waziri is among a cream of eminent Nigerians slated for the 2010 national honours. From whichever angle we look at it, Waziri is eminently qualified to receive the appreciation and commendation of Nigerians for her sterling qualities as a topnotch police officer and boss of the nation’s foremost and most outstanding anti-graft agency.
A nation is worth nothing without great names. God forbid that we get to a level where we have no role models again. The likes of Waziri are Nigerians whose career, patriotism, zeal and drive are enough to inspire future generations and challenge those living below minimum standards of excellence and integrity. Besides, the EFCC she is heading is improving by the day, though there is still room for improvement.
On this note, I’m congratulating both President Goodluck Jonathan and Mrs Waziri for this honour. The President has done well for appreciating the efforts and commitments of Waziri in her anti-graft drive. Waziri is also doing well and deserves our ovation. The honour is really well-deserved because it is the harvest of hard work, resourcefulness, creativity and resilience. May God grant Waziri more useful years of service and industry. More power to her elbow!
