Dear Editor,
God should minister to Goodluck Jonathan
With luck, the leadership of this great country has been placed on the Goodluck Jonathan’s shoulder. I am now making a request to God to please minister to Jonathan in various ways to understand that he needs to take the opportunity of doing right things and on time in order not to erode the remaining bundle of luck with him.
Jonathan should wake up from slumber; avoid much time-gapping that could easily shift his supposedly right thoughts. We have heard much about bringing back Ribadu as a Special Advisor to help in the business he knows best - fight corruption. Before the dissolution of EXCOF (which he has now reconstituted), Jonathan rushed to the Senate and procured an approval to appoint six Special Advisers. He needs matured and experienced persons for this category of appointees and one wonder why he is still delaying in making the appointments.
Jonathan has been listening to all manner of arguments leading him to say through CNN interview that Iwu and INEC are not the issue. He scored (high) the sham called Anambra 2010 gubernatorial election. It should be recalled that through Iwu-INEC’s actions and inactions many registered voters were disenfranchised to the extent that what we have today in Anambra is a governor who was mandated by fewer than 80,000 voters to govern over 4,000,000 people. Jonathan needs to understand that INEC and our electoral laws need reforms. I watched the NTAi 9p.m News Sunday April 25, 2010 where Jonathan doled out ‘awards’ to some persons including Governors Ohakim and Akpabio described as; for their contributions to the Aso Rock Chapel. What that frivolous award meant is yet to be explained to viewers. If Jonathan does not know; people now say his middle names are ‘foot-dragging’ and ‘back-stabbing’.
He should avoid derailment and understand that he may be having the support of the western world for now because of the expected reforms in our electoral law and war on corruption. He should not squander the opportunity.
