Dear Sir,

Jonathan cannot be trusted or advised much longer

Every day passing, acting President Jonathan puts up attitude that draws people to a possible fact that he is not to be trusted.

During the absence of the ailing President Yar’Adua, it was the same Jonathan (then Vice President) that claimed to have spoken with Yar’Adua the same weekend it was rumoured Senate President David Mark and Speaker Dimeji Bankole did. But during interview with CNN Christine Amanpour, Jonathan had a double-speak; “that since the President left the shores of Nigeria last November he neither have spoken with nor seen him”. Jonathan gives Nigerians the impression that is not plotting to contest the position of President come 2011; in the same CNN interview, he was not categorical again.

Few days into acting capacity as President, Jonathan rushed to the Senate to request approval for six Special Advisers; ever since then, he has not appointed any. Why then the rush to the Senate?  The only plausible reason for delaying is to get those that would possibly toe his line of thought especially in his quest to become President in 2011.

Now he had set out to employ the services of the Reform Group within the PDP only to abandon the unsuspecting, respectable personalities mid way. He allowed the governors to hold him hostage against good reforms. Soon he would ask the court to quash or sweep under the carpet the charges against Ogbulafor; we wait for this that would mean another insincere fight against corruption.

Obama accepting Jonathan’s visit should not be taken as peak. The West is only supporting Jonathan on the basis that he would sincerely fight corruption and also make required radical reforms in our electoral processes. Removing Professor Iwu of INEC is not the only electoral reform; primaries and reforms in the ruling PDP is part of it. Who can suggest to anyone that Jonathan stands to be trusted anymore?
