Dear Sir,

Delta Fed House Caucus and Ibori

advertisement

For National Assembly now ready to legalize illegality by passing a law that even if you become indicted you can stand for elective office, I was not surprised at the defence of Ibori published as statement (Vanguard April 16, 2010) by the caucus of Delta State origin in the Federal House of Representatives. The National Assembly in the course of trying to amend the Constitution averred that “even if you are indicted of any crime” you are still eligible to seek elective or appointive positions.

Though it was reported out of the ten members of the Delta State Caucus of the House of Representative, only four appeared at the Press Conference that produced the published communiqué (The Nation April 16, 2010).

And for Ibori rushing to get an Asaba High Court injunction against his possible arrest by the EFCC showed that he has case to answer.  If he knows that his hands are clean, he should hand himself over to EFCC for he once published in the media that he has no case pending in Nigeria or anywhere in the world for that matter. Why then is he afraid?

And to all supporters of Ibori urging him not to face prosecution; starting from Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan (his cousin), President Umaru Yar’Adua (who allowed him unlimited access to the Presidency), Charly Boy (who as reported in The Nation 15/04/10 accompanied him to Delta government house), and the so-called Federal House of Representative Caucus members led by Hon Halims Agoda, should bury their heads in shame.

Mr. Kenneth Dagogo, Bukuru, Jos, Plateau State
